MK pitchs for free, fair polls

CHENNAI: DMK chief M Karunanidhi on Monday called on all parties to stay united to ensure free and fair local body elections. He also squashed rumours that AIADMK allies who were not accommodated in the seat-sharing exercise could be brought into the DMK-led front.“If we stay united we can ensure free and fair polls,” he said.Party treasurer M K Stalin was overseeing all arrangements of the DMK for the local body elections. The party high command would consult Stalin before announcing the formal launch of the poll campaign, Karunanidhi added.
