BANGALORE: In the last two months, the city’s east division police have cracked 140 cases and have arrested 93 persons.Stolen property worth Rs. 1.34 crore have been recovered from the accused in this regard.The sleuths of the DCP east squad arrested Abdul Rauf alias Harris (39) and his associate Harry, who allegedly duped people in the pretext of doubling money.More than Rs. 29.9 lakh cash has been recovered from them.The duo approached businessmen to invest money in a money doubling scheme.They allegedly cheated Hemanth, a businessman, after he invested Rs. 85 lakh in the scheme.The accused used to promise people that if they invest Rs. 85 lakh, they would get Rs. 1 crore back.They had told Hemanth that the money would be credited to his account through online transaction and they duped him.Deer Hunters ArrestedIn other case, the Bharathinagar police arrested two persons, Chidananda (47) of Kushalanagar and Ganesh (30) of Dubare in Virajapet.Six deer antlers, four deer skins, bones of tigers and a pelt of forest sheep, which they allegedly tried to sell have been recovered.The duo hunted animals at Dubare forest and they were caught when they had brought the recovered items near Bamboo Bazaar in Bharathinagar to sell them, the police added.The police are further investigating in connection with the case.
