BANGALORE: A 65-year-old woman and her 35-year-old son committed suicide by hanging themselves from a ceiling fan at their residence in Halasur police station limits on Thursday night. The deceased Ambika and Srinivasan were depressed for a few days over the death of Ambika’s elder son Kumaresh, a clerk at the Accountant General’s (AGs) office. Kumaresh had died of cardiac arrest three days back and this led to the duo’s extreme step.A death note from Srinivasan states, “We were four in the family and were like pillars. We do not have any relatives. First my father died. After, the death of my brother, I and my mother were very depressed. We used to regularly go to Tirupati and of late we had stopped visiting. After stopping, we started encountering problems including my brother’s death. I purchased a Tata Nano car a few months ago. Please sell the car and clear the loans taken in my mother’s name. Please give all our belongings to the orphanage.” Srinivasan, a bachelor, was a computer hardware professional. Before committing suicide he had pasted a white paper on the front door.On the white paper, he had written “To whom so ever it may concern...If anybody wants to see us then break open the door and come inside.”Another resident of the same building grew suspicious after reading the paper. He also found that the doors were locked from inside. Then the matter was informed to police. The police have registered a case and are further investigating in this regard.
