Mothers clubbed to death by their sons

KASARGOD: Two mothers were clubbed to death by their mentally-challenged sons in two separate incidents here on Monday night and Tuesday noon.Narayanai, 45, of Koliyar Colony in Kodome Belur was murdered by her son Kunhikrishnan, 25, a mentally-challenged youth, around 10.30 pm on Monday.The police said that Kunhikrishnan, who was heavily drunk hit on the head of his mother with a stone pestle. In another incident, Kamala, 58, was killed by her son Venkappa Naik, 35, an autorickshaw driver in Badiadka. The police said Venkappa Naik was mentallychallenged. He struck on the head of his mother with a wooden piece on Tuesday. Kamala ran out of the house after being hit on the head and fell unconscious near the house. Venkappa Naik then poured kerosene on her and tried to set her aflame.
