Islamabad: Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has reportedly rejected the mercy plea of Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh alias Manjit Singh, who was awarded death sentence by the Pakistan Supreme Court in 2006.

Sarabjit was arrested in 1990 on the charges of espionage and terrorism and was first awarded death sentence by the Lahore High Court in January 2003.

Singh, who has been dubbed as an agent of Indian intelligence agency RAW, had admitted before the Pakistan courts of changing his name, sometimes as Sarabjit Singh and sometimes as Manjit Singh, reported the Daily Times.

According to the paper, he had also admitted to his involvement in bomb blasts and terrorist activities in Pakistan. The Supreme Court also upheld his death sentence. After rejection of mercy plea, his black warrants can be issued any time, added the paper.
