A riot accused was sent to 14 days' judicial custody after he surrendered before a court in Muzaffarnagar in connection with Maherdeen killing case.
Chief judicial magistrate Narender Kumar sent the accused Sandeep alias Kala to 14 days judicial custody on Tuesday.
Maherdeen was murdered during riots in Lank village in the district in September last. The accused Sandeep was absconding since then.
Earlier, attachment proceedings were initiated by the court here against the accused.
Over 60 persons were killed and more than 40,000 displaced in communal violence in Muzaffarnagar and adjoining areas in September last year.
