Mysore MP Pratap Simha does sky diving to promote tourism, jumps from 13,000 feet
Sky diving was officially launched at the Mysore airport in April, 2015.

Mysore: The 38 years old, first time Member of the Parliament from Mysore-Kodagu Lok Sabha seat Pratap Simha has created a record of sorts by doing a sky diving. Pratap Simha jumped from a height of over 13,000 feet at the Mysore airport on Monday. With this daring act he has joined an exclusive club of skydivers in India. Simha is one of the very few MPs who have actually done this courageous adventure act in Indian politics. His jump is aimed at promoting adventure tourism in Mysore and Kodagu districts.

After he safely touched the ground, an elated Pratap Simha said, "When I boarded the four-seater Cessna aircraft and reached the desired height for the jump, it was a bit scary. But, when I took the plunge and floated in the air, it turned out to be my lifetime experience. The dive was beyond belief and enormously thrilling".

He was accompanied by an instructor from the United States of America. The skydiving was organised by Su Kakini Enterprises Private Limited, the country's only certified agency for sky diving.

Sky diving was officially launched at the Mysore airport in April, 2015. Skydiving facility aims to attract more tourists to heritage city of Mysore. Speaking to IBNLIVE from Mysore, Pratap Simha said, "I did skydiving to instil confidence in the minds of adventure sports enthusiasts. It is safe and the feeling is indescribable. I urge others to try this at least once in their life time".

People of Mysore – Kodagu are full of praise for their young MP who took a huge risk to promote tourism. Pratap Simha, a career journalist quit profession after he got elected to the Lok Sabha in 2014 on BJP ticket.
