BANGALORE: To provide a new forum for sharing ideas, deliberating on issues, challenges and the road ahead that will attempt to bring changes in the delivery of healthcare system in the country, a national conclave on healthcare was organised by the Quality Council of India(QCI) at M S Ramaiah Medical College on Saturday. The conclave was based on the theme, ‘Enhancing Quality in Healthcare: Dimensions and Directions.’Dr Giridhar J Gyani, secretary general, QCI, said that quality in healthcare has importance, as it has a direct impact on human lives. Unlike quality in other sectors, quality in healthcare relates to a hospital monitoring and measuring clinical outcome on a continuous basis. “The accreditation programme by National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers covers all the facets of patient safety including surgical safety, medication management, hospital infection and patient communication,” he said.
