New Delhi: Ticket counters at movie theatres are likely to get crowds this Friday either for the action-packed thriller 'Commando' or romantic comedy 'Nautanki Saala'.
Directed by Rohan Sippy, 'Nautanki Saala' features actors Ayushmann Khuranna and Kunal Roy Kapoor. It is about Ram Parmar (Ayushmann), who meets a troubled and lonely Mandar Lele (Kunaal), and their ensuing bonding and friendship.
Packed with humour, the movie also features Pooja Salvi and Evelyn Sharma adding glamour to the screen. Co-produced by Bhushan Kumar and Ramesh Sippy, the movie has been made on a low budget, but Rohan promises the audiences won't be able to sense it.
"Probably it's the lowest budget film I have ever done... Onscreen you will not feel that it's a small budget film and that is the magic of it. It's an entertaining film, and we have not forcibly incorporated any sort of comedy," said Rohan, who has earlier directed 'Bluffmaster'.
The buzz is good for 'Nautanki Saala' given its fun trailer, and the quirky avatars of Bollywood's two famous songs, 'So gaya ye jahaan' from 'Tezaab' and 'Dhak dhak' from the film 'Beta'.
Ayushmann became the hot property of Bollywood after the success of his debut film 'Vicky Donor' but this film is going to be his real test. A lot will depend on 'Nautanki Saala' for Ayushmann as this film can establish him in the Hindi film industry.
Kunaal Roy Kapur was appreciated in 'Delhi Belly' but 'Nautanki Saala' will decide whether he is going to sustain in Bollywood for long or not.
Rohan Sippy's last film 'Dum Maaro Dum' didn't get success at the box office, so he will also be under pressure to deliver a commercially successful film. The audience will decide the future of 'Nautanki Saala' on Friday. (With inputs from IANS)
