Naxals call for Jharkhand Bandh, demand release of Maoist prisoners

CPI(Maoist) has called for a complete Jharkhand Bandh on Friday to press for the release of Maoist prisoners who have completed their terms.

Suspected Maoists had on Thursday set four bauxite-laden trucks on fire near Sudikona village under Bishunpur police station in Gumla district, a police officer said.

The armed ultras intercepted the trucks, drove away the drivers and set them on fire in the afternoon, Gumla SDPO Deepak Kumar Pandey told newsmen. He said the Maoists were suspected to be involved in the incident.
