The counselling at the King George’s Medical University has begun for the general category of MBBS seats. 163 students gathered for the first day of the combined pre-medical test counselling. The counselling began in the morning and continued till late in the evening. Seats are being allotted to candidates in one medical university and medical colleges across the state. The counselling will continue till 24 July while the academic session is scheduled to start from 1 August. The second round of counselling will be held based upon the vacant seats.
Lucknow: MBA students to have dress code, jeans, t-shirt banned
Students pursuing MBA degree from Lucknow University have been banned from wearing jeans and t-shirts inside the classroom. On Wednesday, students disobeying the rule were not allowed to enter the classroom. The authorities are deciding to fix dress code for the students. To avoid any controversy related to dress code, a meeting has been called by the department authorities.
Lucknow: Stray dogs maul six students
Six school girls were mauled by stray dogs in Aminabad on Thursday. Two girls are from Mahila Degree College and four girls from Mahila Bright School. The incident took place in the Mahila College premise. A KG student was bitten seriously in the neck. The injured were rushed to the Balrampur hospital where they were treated and later discharged.
Agra: Students protest against delay in identity cards
The students created ruckus at the Agra College on Thursday when they did not receive identity card required for getting laptop. The students blocked the MG Road and protested. Later, the situation was controlled by the teachers after they assured the students to provide with identity cards within two days.
Lucknow: Celebrating 100 yrs of Bollywood through paintings
The Lalit Kala Academy on Thursday organised an art exhibition by artist Sharad Pandey celebrating the 100 glorious years of Bollywood. 15 images were displayed in the exhibition made by marker pens. The exhibition also provided information on various films, artists, singers and songs.
Lucknow: LU revives 2nd yr syllabus of sociology
The syllabus of the second year sociology department has been changed. The department head of the colleges have been asked to inform the students. The changed syllabus will be updated in the LU website as well.
Aligarh: School awards 20 students for excellence in merit
Our Lady of Fatima School awarded 20 students from class six to ten for their excellence in merit. The programme was organised by the school authorities and Excellence Classes. A competition was held for choosing the 20 merit students. Those who have been awarded are Ahmed, Jatin, Ritya, Shafiya, Noor Akram, Nikhita, Dushyant, Rahul, Riya, Saraash, Sumeya, Shakun, Radhikashri, Divyash, Tamkin, Asar, Mahmood, and Anant.
Lucknow: Students to pay hostel fees on 3 month basis
The Lucknow University (LU) has cancelled the submission of hostel fee for the whole year at a time. The students taking hostel will now have to pay fees on three month basis. The decision was taken on Thursday by the Chancellor. The student had protested against the decision of taking whole year hostel fee. The new decision was taken keeping in mind the convenience of the students.
Agra: Student falls from school van, dies
A student died while returning to home from school after falling from the school van. The incident happened on Friday. There were about 17 students in the van which can accommodate about eight students. The deceased, identified as Vridh Singh, 12, fell off from the van as the back door was not locked properly. The police have arrested the driver of the van.
