After reports that state administrations are ordering teachers to taste the mid-day meal before serving it to the children, there has been outrage among teachers, who denied tasting the food.
The teachers’ association Rajya Adhyapak Sangh has asked its members to feed the meals to stray dogs, observe the effect for 20 minutes and only then eat it and feed to the children.

Smaller cities such as Indore and Bhopal may soon join the league of Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Jaipur and get access to metro rail services.
The state government has appointed an agency to assess general and technical conditions, before giving its clearance to the venture.
It is learnt that the state government has sought help from LRTC—a Germany-based consulting and engineering firm and Mumbai-based Rohit Associates Architects and Engineers Pvt Ltd.
The firms will submit their report after surveying the general and technical conditions to the state government.
Bhopal: 59 state police officials to get President’s medal on Independence Day
President’s medal would be awarded to 59 officials and personnel of the police, jail and home guards on the occasion of Independence Day.
Five policemen will be awarded the gallantry medal. Four of them would get it posthumously. Seven police officials will get medals for distinguished service while the remaining would get medals for meritorious service.
Indore: Buses, auto rickshaws cease operations in protest of bad roads
Commuters travelling in the city and to the nearby places faced inconvenience on Thursday as close to 400 buses operating between Indore and Dar, Jhabua ceased operations.
Besides, 19,000 auto rickshaws, 750 Magic and city vans remained off road. The Dhar and Jhabua bus operators protested against pitiable condition of Indore-Ahmedabad highway, while auto rickshaw drivers slammed government over sharp rise in CNG prices of late.
Indore: District administration bans auto rickshaws older than ten years
A day before City Auto Rickshaw Drivers’ Association’s strike on Thursday, the district administration took a decision to ban plying of decade-old auto-rickshaws.
Those operating auto-rickshaws for 10 years will have to buy new ones and about 1,000 new permits will be issued. The directive came during a meeting of road safety and traffic monitoring committee presided over by district collector Akash Tripathi on Wednesday.
