Patna: In the aftermath of the mid day meal tragedy in Chhapra in which 22 school children died, an NGO Ekta Shakti Foundation has refused to deliver meals to government schools in the state alleging that a group of Naxals forced them to take the step. Ekta Shakti Foundation supplies mid day meal to 200 government schools in Vaishali district.
Over 100 Naxals allegedly barged into the office of Ekta Shakti Foundation at Garaul in Vaishali district of Bihar and asked them to stop supplying mid day meals in schools.
According to reports a vast majority of students in government schools across the state have refused to eat mid day meals.
Meanwhile, the Union HRD Ministry Additional Secretary, Saran District magistrate Abhijit Sinha and Saran Superintendent of Police Sujeet Kumar are in Dharmasati village to conduct an enquiry.
Twenty-five children are still admitted to the Patna Medical College and Hospital with eight still in the ICU.
