A woman’s body was found inside a water tank located in the staff quarters building of Greater Noida’s Gautam Buddha University on Monday. According to initial investigation, the woman resided with her husband and mother-in-law and police suspect that the two killed her and fled the spot.
The woman and her husband were often engaged in fights, the local residents told police. On Sunday night, the duo were suspected to have been fighting, which eventually ended in the murder of the woman, cops said.
A complaint was lodged by the woman’s relatives following which a case was registered and teams were formed to track the accused. The cops are currently searching for the accused, the woman’s husband and mother-in-law.
According to an NDTV report, the victim’s body was found in the cemented water tank and top police officials soon reached the spot to recover it.
The body has been sent for autopsy, senior police officer Shivhari Meena informed. He further said, “We have registered a case and a team has been formed to search for the absconding accused. All aspects are being probed and the matter will be unearthed soon.”
