BANGALORE: Following the issue of non-bailable warrants, former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, his family members and former minister Krishnaiah Setty appeared before the Lokayukta Court here on Tuesday in connection with two land denotification cases.Yeddyurappa, his sons B Y Raghavendra and B Y Vijayendra, son-in-law R Sohan Kumar and former minister Krishnaiah Setty filed an application before Lokayukta Judge N K Sudhindra Rao for recall of the NBWs.While Yeddyurappa’s counsel Sandeep Patil was pleading the judge to cancel the NBWs issued against them, some advocates were shouting outside the court hall asking Patil not to argue the case and come out of the court hall. The judge, however, asked him to continue the argument without minding the advocates’ demand.Later, Judge Rao recalled the NBWs, which were issued on Monday, and adjourned the hearing till March 24.When advocate Patil emerged from the court hall, the agitating lawyers heckled him for not abstaining from court proceedings. The NBWs were issued against the accused in the case after they failed to appear in court during the trial. As the advocates had boycotted all court proceedings on Monday following the ongoing tussle with journalists, Yeddyurappa had sent a request letter to the court seeking exemption from personal appearance through a clerk. When the clerk presented the letter to him, Judge Sudhindra Rao took objection to this and said the request could not be accepted as it was not a proper procedure, and issued warrants against to Yeddyurappa, his kin and Setty.
