London: President Barack Obama says the US can't deal with the world's financial crisis alone, and nations need to act together to stimulate their economies.
Obama was asked at a London news conference with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown on Wednesday whether he's disappointed that other nations haven't committed as much spending to economic stimulus as the US has.
He responded that Great Britain and the European Union have taken "serious steps," and that Australia, Canada, Japan and China have acted as well.
He says each country needs to do "what is necessary to promote economic growth."
But Obama says the world has gotten used to the United States being the "voracious consumer market" that drives economic growth around the world. And he says that's a burden it can't handle alone.
