BANGALORE: A woman sustained grave injuries after a fire broke out at her house while her husband was illegally refilling a LPG cylinder. The incident was reported in Cholarapalya in Magadi Road police station limits on Monday. The police said   Manjula’s husband Babu worked at a hotel and he was incharge of gas cylinders at the hotel. On Monday night, Babu was illegally refilling gas to an empty cylinder.  A fire broke out accidentally and it resulted in an explosion. The entire house was damaged due to the blast and furniture and other items were also destroyed in the incident. However, Babu escaped with minor injuries in the incident.The woman has been hospitalised. Magadi Road police have registered a case in this connection.Verbal Spat Ends in MurderVerbal spat over a trivial issue ended in the murder of a medical shop owner on OTC Road in Cottonpet police station limits in the wee hours of Tuesday. The victim Junaid Ahmed, 22, was a resident of Cotton Pet. According to the police, Junaid went home walking after meeting some of his freinds in the night. As he was nearing his home, Sakria, a tea stall owner, and Jaffer allegedly waylaid him and picked up a fight. Later, the duo allegedly hacked Junaid to death with lethal weapons.“The exact reason for the murder is yet to be ascertained. However, it is said that Junaid had fought with Sakria over a trivial issue two weeks ago. It is suspected that Sakria killed Junaid in retaliation,” the police said.
