The city-based Children's Fine Arts Gallery (CFAG) is organisinga painting contest for school-children, which will also give them an opportunity to exhibit their work. The CFAG initiative, which is a part of the Daira Centre for Arts and Culture aims to foster the love of arts among children beyond routine art classes.The last date for sending in entries is September 20 and select works will be on display at CFAG between October 15 and October 30. The results will be announced on October 10 after evaluation of the entries by senior professional artists. The paintings will be adjudged for originality and imagination apart from merit of the art work.The contest is open for children aged between 3 years and 16 years in four different categories. The paintings can be in any medium and should be an original work of art produced solely by the individual student. Participation in the contest requires a nominal fee of `200 to be paid through a demand draft drawn in favour of Daira Art Gallery Pvt Ltd. Apart from three winners in each of the four age group categories, the school that bags the highest number of prizes will also be awarded the 'Art Supportive School' trophy.
