Poonch: There is no end to ceasefire violations along the border. Pakistan on Saturday violated the ceasefire for the second time in the last 12 hour in the Poonch area of Jammu and Kashmir.
The firing began from the Pakistani side at around 1.40 pm on Saturday afternoon and is still underway.
Pakistan had fired on Indian posts late on Friday night in the Nowshera sector of Jammu and Kashmir. The intermittent firing lasted for over two hours with Indian troops retaliating. No casualty or damage was reported.
Earlier in the day, the traditional exchange of sweets between the Indian and Pakistani forces at the Attari-Wagah border on Eid had been called off due to after repeated incidents of ceasefire violations along the Line of Control.
In 2014, too, no sweets were exchanged between the two countries but the tradition was resumed in March 2015. However, the tradition was not followed by the security forces again.
