Paravoor case: HC dismisses bail plea of accused

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court has dismissed the bail applications filed by five accused in the Paravoor sex case. Justice K T Sankaran dismissed the bail applications filed by Sunny, Rajasekharan Nair alias Rajan,  Mohan Kumar, Maideen and Magudeswaran. Dismissing the applications the court said that there was prima facie evidence to arrive at a conclusion that the petitioners were involved in the offence. The sensational case is that a minor girl was sexually exploited by many, including her own father. Based on the statements of the girl and her mother, the police registered a case and launched an investigation. Later,  the probe was handed over to the  Crime Branch. There are over 150 accused in the case.
