THRISSUR: In another instance exposing the deepening rift within the Congress, a group of partymen in Thrissur has allegedly damaged the flex boards and posters bearing the images of P C Chacko MP. It is believed that his remarks against KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala, a couple of days ago, has provoked the members. In a recent interview to a private Malayalam channel, Chacko had said that nothing will happen if Chennithala was to step down from the post of KPCC president. Notably, only Chacko’s face was disfigured on the hoardings put up to congratulate his efforts to bring in developments to the city. The images of M P Vincent MLA, who played a key role in securing a budget allocation for the zoological park, and that of various state leaders, including Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, remained untouched. However, DCC president V Balram denied the allegations.
