HYDERABAD: Here is a reason for aspiring government employees to rejoice. The state government will issue a notification by the end of December to recruit nearly 1.16 lakh employees in various departments. A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting convened by chief secretary SV Prasad with heads of different departments at the secretariat on Monday. It may be recalled here that chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy announced that one 1 lakh government employees would be recruited soon. Top officials of Finance, Revenue, Home, Education, SC Welfare, BC Welfare, Medical and Health, Agriculture and other departments have been asked to prepare job schedules and compile the number of vacancies in their respective departments and coordinate with the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC), Police Recruitment Board, District Selection Committees and other recruitment agencies in issue of job notifications. The month-wise schedule, details of vacancies in different departments and the selection process will be notified soon.The initiative has been taken as part of the plan to create 15 lakh jobs in the next three years under Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu scheme launched on August 20. The scheme is meant to provide training and generate employment to youth in IT, construction, manufacturing, textiles, service and other sectors. Under the Rajiv Education and Employment Mission (REEM), training will be provided to youth, in coordination with the departments of labour and employment, SERP, education, minorities welfare, women and child welfare, National Academy of Construction, CII, FAPCCI and Jawahar Knowledge Centres.
