New Delhi: Moving one step closer to cracking the murder case of 20-year-old Shobhit Modi, the Delhi Police on Saturday detained a suspect Deepak Singh.
The police is now questioning Deepak to verify certain facts. Police sources claimed that Shobhit was killed as a result of a failed robbery attempt.
Shobhit was murdered near his house on May 5 while returning home from the DLF Promenade Mall. Police teams are carrying out raids in Delhi and NCR to find out the culprits.
Hundreds of people, including a number of friends of the victim as well as the parents of his girlfriend, were questioned in connection with the murder of Shobhit Modi on May 5.
The official said investigators were keeping a close watch on some of Shobhit's friends at Manav Rachna University in Faridabad and an alumnus of Delhi Public School to ascertain his involvement in the incident.
The Crime Branch was also roped in to probe the case.
