Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government has turned a blind eye to government-run schools, which are in a dilapidated condition. Some of the school buildings are in such a poor state that a tragedy is just waiting to take place.
Students are made to sit inside unsafe buildings to study in inhuman conditions with cracked and damped walls.
In many districts schools are running without a proper building. Students complain that they get wet during rainy seasons because there is no shelter in most of the schools run by the government.
"It also becomes difficult for us to study in summer season due to extreme heat," one of the students says.
Madhya Pradesh Education Minister Paras Jain says the government is already taking action. "We have taken cognizance of the matter. We will make proper buildings as soon as land is available," he says.
