Congress MLA T N Prathapan on Friday wrote a poignant reply to P C George over his reported casteist remarks.
“Being a part of the fishermen community, I have immensely enjoyed my childhood days. My father was a fish hawker and my mother was a daily-wage earner. The people have elected me as their representative keeping in mind all these facts. Hence, please do not dismiss the judgement of the people who have sent me to the assembly as their elected representative,” the MLA requested.
The Congress legislator had opposed George’s allegations related to the Nelliyampathy estate, the other day.
The Chief Whip had said that being a member of Dheevara Hindu fishermen community, Prathapan should concentrate on the problems of the fishermen and leave the farmers’ issues to the farming community. Prathapan reiterated his stand against the estate mafias and said that he would strive to expose the fraud committed by the estate owners in the guise of farming.
