BANGALORE: The managements of aided and unaided private colleges have decided to move court if the state government fails to revise the prescribed fee structure for first year Pre-University (PU) admissions.Speaking at a meeting convened by the Private College Managements’ Association (PCMA) here on Thursday, its president Dr M K Panduranga Setty said Department of Pre-University Education’s (DPUE) circular has annoyed PU college managements. “We will shut down all PU colleges if the government does not revise the prescribed tuition fee,” said the president of PCMA. The DPUE has fixed Rs 1,403 as a total fee for I PU. “As per the circular, if the fee structure is violated, the department will punish its principals and derecognise the colleges,” he added. The PCMA will meet Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri on Saturday.
