Protest to be intensified

KALADY: The ongoing agitation to protest against the cancellation of study centres of reform leaders in the Sree Sankaracharya Sanskrit University will be intensified, if the decision of various organisations under the  Sanathana Dharma Suhruth Vedi is any indication. The Vedi representatives have submitted a memorandum in this regard to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, ministers and all MLAs. The Vedi has decided to organise a hartal in Kalady. Volunteers will gherao the vice-chancellor in this connection, said Vedi general coordinator Prof. P V Peethambaran. The Vedi proposed to constitute 14 action committees in various centres to strengthen the stir. The first of the series will be inaugurated at Sreemoolanagaram on Wednesday. Aluva SNDP Union secretary K N Divakaran and KPM S district secretary M A Chandran will jointly inaugurate.  Action committees will also be inaugurated at Angamaly, Perumbavoor, Sivajipuram, Manickamangalam, Thuravoor, Chalakudy, Okkal, Kanjoor, Manjapra, Koratty, Malayattoor, Kuruppupady and Kothamangalam.
