Quarterly exams in Telangana from October 28

HYDERABAD: All the schools in Telangana region will function on second Saturdays and Sundays from November 30 to February 12 to compensate the loss of working days due to Sakala Janula Samme.The school education department has also decided to reduce the number of Sankranti holidays from 12 to 7 days in the region.Though the department proposed to declare a 3-day holiday for Sankranti, some teachers’ associations opposed the move.Hence, it has been decided to declare one-week holiday for schools for the festival. Speaking to Express, commissioner and director of school education N Sivasankar said the quarterly examinations would be conducted in Telangana region from October 28 to November 3.The exams were not held in Telangana region as per schedule from September 19 to 26 due to Sakala Janula Samme.
