CHENNAI: Recently, Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Insititue, conducted a state-level intercollegiate quiz competition in Physiology under the theme ‘Blood & Body Fluids’. Both government and private colleges from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry participated in the competition. Dr MGR Medical University and other private universities participated in the inter-medical quiz competition that was organised by an association of Physiologists of Tamil Nadu. Four teams were selected for the final round after a preliminary written examination. In the final round, for the first time, Meenakshi Medical College and Research Institute, Kanchipuram, won the first prize and the Rolling Trophy Shield. The Kilpauk Medical College, Chengalpattu Medical College and Stanley medical college bagged the first, second and third prizes respectively. This quiz competition is being conducted for the past 15 years at various medical college in Tamil Nadu. Speaking on the occasion, M Chandrasekhar, vice principal and HOD of Physiology, said, “Every year, the government Medical Colleges won the trophy. So we made sure the competition is more challenging compared to previous years. We had to prepare two months earlier and the hard work done by our faculties and the students has paid off. Our students have been motivated by such competitions. It has also encouraged them to do well at the national level.
