Moderate to heavy rains lashed several parts of Himachal Pradesh even as monsoon missed date with the hilly state on Thursday.
Normally, the monsoon hits the state on June 26 but this year onset of monsoon has been delayed, a MeT official said, adding, however, the pre-monsoon showers continue to lash the state for the past ten days.
According to MeT office, Chail in Solan district received the highest rainfall of 55 mm while Sundernagar and Gohar in Mandi district had 43 mm and 38 mm of rains, followed by Shimla 33 mm, Ghamroor 28 mm, Bijahi 24 mm, Baijnath 20 mm, Pandoh 19 mm, Dharamshala 18 mm, Kalatop 16 mm and Kangra 15 mm.
The MeT office, in a forecast, has predicted light to moderate rains at isolated places on June 27 and 28 and heavy rains in some parts of the state from June 29 onwards.
The mercury stayed close to normal at most of the places with marginal fluctuations and Una was the hottest with a high of 36.2 degrees Celsius while Kalpa recorded maximum temperature at 21.2 degrees C.
Bhunter recorded maximum temperature at 33.0 degrees C, followed by Nahan 32.5 degrees C, Sundernagar 31.9 degrees C, Dharamshala 31.6 degrees C, Solan 28.5 degrees C and Shimla 23.5 degrees C.
There was no significant change in minimum temperatures and Keylong and Manali recorded a low of 8.7 degrees C and 9.6 degrees C, followed by Kalpa 10.4 degrees C, Bhuntar 15.5 degrees C, Shimla 16.6 degrees C, Palampur 17.0 degrees C and Solan 17.2 degrees C, it said.
