Rajasthan government on Wednesday told the assembly that it would consider expediting settlment of old cases pending under the land ceiling act through a fast track court or any other medium.
This was stated by Rajasthan Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Singh Rathore amidst trading of charges between him and a senior Congress leader on purchase of land by a Delhi-based company in Rajasthan.
On an issue raised by BJP MLA Ramhet Singh Yadav on purchase of several beegha of lands by the company in the state, Rathore told the House that the state government would definitely consider either fast track court or any other medium to settle pending cases.
As the BJP MLA raised the issue, a veteran Congress MLA Pradhyuman Singh suggested the government undertake an enquiry into it. The Parliamentay Minister said it was the previous Congress government that brought amendments in the land ceiling act to favour someone.
As the arguments generated heat and a name mentioned in the House, the Speaker immediately ordered "name should be dropped/expunged".
The arguments between Singh and Rathore on the issue could not heard in the din.
Later an assembly press release quoting the Parliamentary Minister said when the Chief Minister had gone to Bikaner to address public grievances for a fortnight, she made specific mention of such cases and decided to expedite the cases.
