It looks like filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma is all set to make a sequel to his films Bhoot. The film, says Ramu, is tentatively titled BHHOOoo and will make the audience squirm in their seats.
Varma, who is a regular on micro-blogging sites, having raged full-fledged wars with fellow Bollywood celebrities online, wrote on his Twitter page yesterday, "Can anyone give me a nice idea for a title for a horror film...something like Bhoot maybe."
In 2003, Varma directed Bhoot, starring Ajay Devgn and Urmila Matondkar that indeed left a lot of his fans screaming in fear. The film, with its series of bizarre twists and turns made some impressive money at the boxoffice. Ramu followed up again with another message for his fans on Twitter: "Am very excited about this new horror film I am starting...its title is.. BHHOOoo.! This will be BHOOT 2."
The filmmaker then chose to explain the reason behind coming up with this rather-interesting title for the film. He wrote, "The title BHHOOoo comes from that its the most commonly uttered sound by us as kids when we want to scare the daylights out of anyone. (sic)" Varma gave a sampling of the horror quotient he plans to use in the sequel, when he wrote next, "But when that sound BHHOOo we utter as kids is used in an adult horror film context, it completely changes in its intention and intensity."
There are also reports coming in suggesting that the original cast of Bhoot will be retained for the sequel. However, interestingly some reports also hint that the reins of directing the film will be entrusted in director Vikram Bhatt's hands, instead of Ramu. Bhatt who recently made Haunted, the country's first 3D horror film is said to be making Bhoot 2, also in 3D.
Ramu's last attempt at making a horror film didn't end up very well as his Phoonk 2 did rather disappointingly at the box office. Will the filmmaker be able to take another shot at making successful horror flicks with Bhoot 2? We will have to wait and watch.
