HYDERABAD: The XXI Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate on Thursday dismissed the bail petition of B Ramalinga Raju, former chairman of Satyam Computers and seven others. The court felt that the argument for the bail was weak. Moreover, the CBI counsel argued that it would become difficult for them to continue the trial if Raju is released on bail.Raju and his co-accused - his brother Rama Raju, former Satyam CFO V Srinivas and three other former IT company employees G Ramakrishna, Venkatapathi Raju and Srisailam- asre currently under judicial remand in Chanchalguda Central Prison. They moved a bail petition on August 1 as the Supreme Court allowed them to do so if the trial of the case was not completed before July 31. The High court on August 18 last year had granted bail to the accused but CBI approached the apex court which cancelled the bail and gave them them a time frame after which they could seek bail again.
