Sharing camaraderie, Lok Janshakti Party president Ramvilas Paswan on Thursday visited house of RJD leader Rabri Devi to exchange greetings on Chhath Puja. Accompanied by his son and LJP Parliamentary Board chief Chirag Paswan and younger brother Ramchandra Paswan, the party chief arrived at Rabri Devi's 10 Circular Road residence to exchange greetings on Chhath.

Rabri Devi is performing Chhath in the absence of her husband Lalu Prasad who is in Ranchi jail after his conviction in a fodder scam case. Ramvilas Paswan greeted Rabri and accepted "kharna prasad" which she had cooked herself. Following customs, Rabri applied 'tika' on the forehead of Ramvilas Paswan who returned the gesture with a 'namaskar'.

The LJP chief told reporters that he had been visiting Prasad's family on this occasion every year. "Lalu Prasad's absence is visible but it has not dented confidence of workers of LJP and RJD parties," he said. Rabri Devi told reporters that Prasad's non-presence has indeed lessened the enthusiasm on such occasion. She said she will send Chhath "prasad" to Lalu Yadav in Ranchi.

The LJP has time and again said that notwithstanding Prasad's imprisonment, his party's tie-up with RJD is intact and they would be together in 2014 polls. Paswan interacted with other RJD leaders assembled at Rabri Devi's house.

State RJD President Ramchandra Purve, its Legislature party leader in state Assembly Abdul Bari Siddiqui, his counterpart in Legislative Council Gulam Gaus, Secretary General Ramkripal Yadav and a host of other RJD MLAs gathered at 10 Circular Road residence of the former chief minister on the occasion. RJD President's son Tej Pratap told reporters that his absence is being felt definitely. "But, we are moving ahead on the path shown by him to work for upliftment of poor and downtrodden, he added."
