Mumbai: Three Shiv Sena MLAs supporting Maharashtra Revenue Minister and former Sena leader Narayan Rane today resigned from the State Assembly amidst speculations that they might join the Congress.
The three MLAs Subhash Bane, Shankar Kambli and Ganpat Kadam met Assembly Speaker Babasaheb Kupekar at the Vidhan Bhavan and tendered their resignations.
Congress party sources claimed all three are scheduled to join the party on Friday.
Rane said that seven more Sena MLAs would resign from the Assembly before the winter session beginning in Nagpur next month.
Rane said, "I am sure that the Congress party would do them justice if they get elected."
He is hoping that his supporters would get the ministerial berth.
Bane, Kambli and Kadam are from the Konkan region ? the same place from where Narayan Rane, who joined Congress following his expulsion from Shiv Sena in July, hails.
Bane was elected from Sangameshwar Assembly seat, Kambli from Vengurla and Kadam from Rajapur.
