BANGALORE: The reimbursement amount payable by the state government to private unaided schools for accommodating 25 per cent of underprivileged children has been notified.It has been approved that the per-child reimbursement amounts for class one and pre-school (kindergarten) will be Rs 11,848 and Rs 5,924, respectively.The per-child expenditure (the ratio of annual expenditure on elementary education to children enrolled) will be notified annually before the academic year, which is to be reimbursed after admission of eligible children to private unaided schools.The government has also approved the proposal to reserve 7.5 per cent to Scheduled Caste and 1.5 per cent to Scheduled Tribes out of the 25 per cent of seats that the private unaided schools are to provide under the RTE Act.For the remaining 16 per cent, the schools concerned will have to pick lots.Should a school violate any of the provisions, the Block Education Officer (BEO) will seek an explanation within 15 days.
