Sachin's wife rubbishes retirement rumour
Anjali Tendulkar clarifies Sachin has many more yards to go.

New Delhi: Nearly two decades after he made his debut in Pakistan, Sachin Tendulkar on Friday scaled the summit in Mohali.

He had came agonisingly close in the last test match at Bangalore but was dismissed for 49; leaving him 15 short of going past Brian Lara's mark of 11,953 test runs.

Tendulkar is playing his 152nd test match and already holds the record for the most centuries in test cricket besides a number of other records.

Sachin's wife Anjali spoke on behalf of the family. She has clarified that Sachin has many more yards to go and that the little master has no immediate plan for retirement

"I can assure you that Sachin will not play more than a minute when he feels it is time to retire, as of now he is enjoying the game. The board (BCCI) has said nothing. I don’t know who spread such rumour,” she said.

He walked off having rescued India from a difficult situation and to a well deserved applause.

Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar spoke to CNN-IBN and congratulated Sachin on his historic achievement. ”According to me, this is a historic day for Indian cricket and for cricket fans. I am really happy and would like to congratulate him. We rarely meet each other, he is quite by nature and I have never seen him talk ill about anyone. One should concentrate on his work and that is one reason why Sachin is what he is today,” she said.
