Tourism Minister A P Anilkumar said that the tourism potential of water bodies in the state can be better tapped with the implementation of the proposed sea plane and water taxi projects.
Speaking at the inauguration of the welcome committee office of the President’s Trophy Boat Race at the Kollam Boat Jetty here on Monday, he said that though water bodies in the state offer seamless possibilities to develop tourism, few initiatives have been taken to utilise these prospects.
“Kollam will definitely find a place in the sea plane project,” he said. The Minister said that the Central Government funded tourism projects worth Rs 5.50 crore is being implemented in the state.
The circuit tourism project connecting Varkala, Paravur and Ashtamudi Lakes has been progressing.
