Fourth seed Serena Williams has vowed to keep improving in her quest for the Olympic singles gold after crushing Australia's Samantha Stosur in the second round here on Tuesday.
Williams, the doubles gold medallist in the 2000 Sydney Games with sister Venus, took just 44 minutes to dispatch Stosur 6-3, 6-0 and line up a third-round match against French teenager Alize Cornet, seeded 15th.
"It was clean," Williams said of her storming win over Stosur. "My way of improving on it is to keep it up.
"I played really clean matches in the past, the next one would be kind of streaky. I don't want to do that any more. I just want to keep playing the same consistency."
