THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The seventh standard equivalent examination organised by Kerala State Literacy Mission would be held on Saturday and Sunday. There are around 850 exam centres across the state. As many as 11,145 people are expected to attend the examination. Majority of the candidates are women. As many as 4,222 women and 3,012 men would write the exam.Malappuram has the highest number of candidates. Of the 1,912 candidates registered from Malappuram, 1,900 candidates would write the examination. Pathanamthitta has the least number of candidates - 253. Tirurangadi in Malappuram is the block with the largest number of candidates (225). Only one person has registered from Azhutha block in Idukki district.The seventh standard examination is important since it is considered as an entrance examination for tenth standard equivalent examination. The examination would be held from 10.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.Examinations for Malayalam, English and Hindi would he held on Saturday while exams on Social Science, Science and Maths would be held on Sunday. Education Minister P K Abdu Rabb and Urban Affairs Minister Manjalamkuzhi Ali would visit the examination centre at Perinthalmanna Boys High School.
