New Delhi: Shiv Sena, too, has joined the anti-outsider campaign on Tuesday with its activists protesting outside the Income Tax department in Mumbai alleging discrimination against Maharashtrians in the recruitment for Grade 4 levels.
Some Shiv Sena workers met the IT Commissioner and put their demand. They want that Maharashtrians should be given preference.
They allege that in the latest recruitment drive by the IT department for Grade 4 levels very few are Maharashtrians.
Meanwhile, the situation in Mumbai continues to be tense, as police get ready to take action against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray and Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi.
In Mumbai, shop-owners downed shutters in most parts of the city - including Worli, Prabhadevi, Chembur, Ghatkopar and Dadar - as there was wide speculation that Raj Thackeray will be arrested and presented at Vikhroli court at some point of time on Tuesday.
