BANGALORE: Dignity Foundation is introducing Dignity Sandhyaraga a Carnatic musical celebration by Yesudas on August 28, Sunday.Dignity Foundation, a non-profit organisation was started in Mumbai in 1995 by Dr Shrilu Srinivasan, with the vision “To create an enlightened society in which the 50+ feel secure, confident and valued, and can live with dignity.” With five chapters, in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune and Bangalore, they work towards taking care of the needs of senior citizens.The money raised through the concert will be used towards supporting the senior citizens by providing food and recreational activities throughout the yearDr Mrinalini Manager-Resource Mobilisation of the foundation says, “We are holding this concert because we need to generate more money so that we can look after more senior citizens across India.” Each member of the foundation is issued an identity card known as ‘The Dignity Donor Advantage Card’, and this card provides discounts at hospitals, pharmacies and jewellery stores.They also provide Government ID cards to senior citizens, apart from providing 24hr helpline in case of any emergency.Apart from this the organisation sends volunteering helpers to their house if they are lonely or need help from anyone in paying their bills or taking them to hospitals or functions.Dignity Sandhyaraga by Yesudas will be held on Sunday, 5.30 pm onwards at NIMHANS Convention Centre, Hosur Road The tickets are priced between Rs 1000 (balcony) and Rs 25,000 (platinum family pass).For more details, contact 9902244335 or 9844135850.
