HYDERABAD: Is the sudden transfer of ACB additional director K Sreenivasa Reddy, who is supervising the investigation into the illegal liquor syndicate activities, an indication of armistice between chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC chiefBotcha Satyanarayana? It appears so considering the hurry with which Sreenivasa Reddy had been moved as chief of coastal security. To make his transfer look a routine affair, a few other officers too were transferred along with him.The timing of the transfer was also significant. It came at a time when the running feud between Kiran Kumar Reddy and Botcha Satyanarayana had reached a flash point, causing enough headache to the party leaders in New Delhi. When Kiran Kumar Reddy and his critics Botcha Satyanarayana and deputy chief minister Damodar Rajanarasimha were scheduled to have an audience with party senior leaders in Delhi on Wednesday, the decision to transfer Sreenivasa Reddy was taken on Tuesday night as party high command apparently wanted Kiran Reddy to bury the hatchet.According to sources, the chief minister had ensured that there would be a lull in the investigation into liquor syndicate operations, at least for the time being, by transferring Sreenivasa Reddy, who was chief of the Special Investigation Team (SIT). Though Sreenivasa Reddy is yet to be relieved, he would, anyway, have to move out in a few days, paving the way for his replacement to take over. The latest friction between Botcha and Kiran Kumar Reddy started when Vizianagaram ACB inspector served a notice on Sreenivasa Reddy accusing him of humiliating him for not sending a report fixing Botcha in the liquor scam.
