Lucknow: National-level volleyball player Arunima Sinha alias Sonu, who lost her leg after being pushed from a moving train, may have to undergo a surgery due to infection in the severed limb, hospital sources said.
"During the examination of Sonu, who was admitted yesterday, it was detected that her amputated left leg has swelling and infection which may require further surgery for treatment," said the sources at Chattrapati Shahuji Maharaj
Medical University, where Arunima was shifted on Saturday.
As of now the dead tissues were removed, wound cleaned and fresh dressing was done, they said.
"Though her condition is stable, but due to excessive bleeding Sonu's haemoglobin level has gone down fairly due to which transfusion was done last night," the sources said.
Sonu's case is that of amputation below the knee and she has been kept in high-dependency ward, they added.
