Chennai: Even as the industry waits with bated breath for Vettai to get remade in Hindi, director Lingusamy is all set to fly to Mumbai in three days to finalise the cast of the film. While Lingusamy had already announced that actor Madhavan would reprise his role in the Hindi version as well, there were news reports that he had been replaced by Shah Rukh Khan.
Neither denying nor confirming such reports, the director, when approached by City Express, said, "The only thing that has been confirmed is that I'm definitely directing the Hindi version. Nothing else can be said. I'm going to Mumbai in three days and everything will be finalised in a week."
The Tamil version of Vettai had Madhavan, Arya, Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul in the lead roles. UTV Motion Pictures is producing the Hindi version of the movie.
Meanwhile, Lingusamy has started work on his next Tamil projects as well. "I'm working on two scripts for Vishal," he said. When asked if one of them was a sequel to Sandakozhi, the movie in which they came together for the first time, he said, "Yes, but I can't tell you now which one would work out first."
The next movie of his production house, 'Tirupathi Brothers', will be director Balaji Sakthivel’s 'Vazhaku En 18/9'.
When asked him about the undue delay in releasing the film, he said, “It’s been just one month since Vettai released. Now, we are working hard to release 'Vazhaku En...' soon,” he said.
