CHENNAI: SRM University’s national-level cultural extravaganza, Milan 2012, witnessed a scintillating start on Friday evening. Over 7,000 students from around 200 Engineering, Arts and Science, Medical, Paramedical and Management universities and colleges across India are expected to turn up for the fifth edition of the fest.In his inaugural address at the fest held at the Dr T P Ganesan auditorium, SRM University, South Indian Film Artistes’ Association president and actor R Sarath Kumar advised them to “dream big, plan big and achieve big.”Another show-stopper on the occasion was actor Siddharth Suryanarayan of ‘Boys’ fame, who literally stole the hearts of students, especially girls. They quizzed the actor about his personal and professional life during a interactive session that followed. Siddharth left the audience thoroughly entertained, thus setting the tone for the four-day fest to follow. The students clapped to his rendition of the track ‘Parvati’ from his latest, Kaadalil Sodapuvadu Yeppadi.A host of events, from wall and face painting, light music, photography, DJ Wars, Choreonite, Treasure Hunt, Shipwreck, Rangoli, Adzap, workshops in Self Defense, 2D film-making, I-Chef, Chocolate Making, Salsa & Photography to adventure sports are in the offing.
