Renowned agricultural scientist SP Tiwari, who is associated with several international funding agencies, asked Birsa Agriculture University to seek funds from international banks to change Jharkhand's farm sector.
"Submit a project worth over Rs 500 crore to World Bank, Asian Development Bank etc, with the aim of changing the farm sector scenario of Jharkhand as the state has rich biodiversity and immense potential to contribute (in the farm sector)," the former Deputy Director General of ICAR, New Delhi, said in Ranchi.
Addressing the 33rd Foundation Day of the BAU in Ranchi, Dr Tiwari urged the scientists to lead a meaningful life rather than a successful life. "In this competitive world...only those who continue to change and respond suitably to the changing times will survive and excel in their fields," a BAU press release said quoting him.
Also a former Vice Chancellor of Rajasthan Agricultural University, Tiwari exhorted the scientists to dream high and set bigger goals and never feel guilty for failures. Jharkhand Agriculture Secretary Dr Nitin Madan Kulkarni said scope of working and contributing something to the society, the nation and the world in the agriculture sector was much more compared to other sectors.
