CHENNAI: There were a whopping 63,367 visitors to the science exhibition conducted by Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, held at Madras Veterinary College between July 29 and August 1. This is one of the highest attendance rates seen at any event organised by the university said Vice Chancellor Dr R Prabhakaran. “The response has been amazing and this has given us the belief that such events are appreciated by the public,” he said.The exhibition saw participation from 61 schools and colleges in various events ranging from an animal quiz to a cookery contest. The participation seen at the dog carnival on Sunday was also appreciated by the Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, staff. “There were dogs brought from all across the state and it turned out to be a fantastic day despite the hint of rain,” said a staff member. The exotic bird contest and a aquarium exhibition were also huge hit among the crowds.
