BANGALORE: Population ageing is one of the most important global trends of the 21st century. Senior citizens have started receiving attention from the business, and policy makers too. The 21st Century is christened the century of elderly persons, while the 22nd will be called the century of the “ageing of the aged”.To showcase the products and services that are already flourishing in the ageing market in India, Dignity Foundation, the 16 year old premier NGO specialising in productive ageing opportunities to the 50+ in association with Athashri-Paranjape Schemes Venture, the pioneers and leading name in housing solution for senior citizens in India is launching an event spread over a month and five cities in September and October 2011.Said Jayaprakash, director, Dignity Foundation, Bangalore Chapter “This is the first attempt to galavanate an expo only for the senior citizens. Apart from the products and services on display, there will be workshops held every half an hour on various topics like how to build a  CV, operate mobile phones, accessing socila networking sites, spiritual talks, will making, legal rights, the habit of good food to name  a few.” Noted Dr Sheilu Sreenivasan, Founder President of Dignity Foundation, “We plan to deliver action-packed space for showcasing products, services, interactive exhibits of everything that is related to lifestyle segments for senior citizens. The goal is to set abuzz the commercial sector with potentialities for tapping the hitherto unchartered market territories.”Pursuing its mission, Dignity Foundation will also hold India’s Number One opportunity to recruit experienced retired talents in highly specialised fields of technology, general management and administration. The Second Career Job Fair.The five-city mega Event ‘The Retirement India EXPO 2011’ is managed by Vision India’s MD Janaki Raman who said, “Until now I was only aware of the care elderly people  require in their autumnal years. For the first time I myself realised what a rousing response there is in India for showcasing this market. The impressive list of business partners I have been able to rope into this Event is to be seen to be believed. We have large companies who are taking  part such as  Athashri, Melur Meadows, Bahri Estate, Jain Farms, Bank Of India, LIC,  Bank of Maharashtra, Indian Bank, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company Ltd., Central Bank Of India, Vasan Healthcare Private Limited, Saket Engineers ( Pranaam), Star Union Dai-Ichi Life Insurance, Iffco Tokio General Insurance Co. Ltd,  The Golden Estate, Artifical Limbs Manufacturing Corporation and more.The expo will be held on Sept 17,18 and 19, from 11 am to 7.30 pm, at NIMHANS Convention Centre.  Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda will inaugurate the event.
