Textiles gutted in fire

KOCHI: Textiles worth Rs 5 lakh were damaged in a fire in a textile shop on Convent Road here in the wee hours of Monday.According to Fire and Rescue Service officials, the fire was detected around 4.30 am by the police patrolling party at Colour Riot textile shop. Fire tenders from the fire stations on the Club Road rushed to the spot and doused the   fire within an hour. The ground floor of the two-floor building was completely damaged. Short circuit is said to be the reason behind the accident. The computers in the ground floor of the shop also were burnt.
